Very disappointed about this - we had been planning to visit the Kikuchi Gorge this summer to have a relaxing, cooling time in the heat of the season. The Kikuchi Gorge suffered many landslides following the Kumamoto Earthquake and has been closed off to the public. Staff have indicated that it might not open again until the autumn, though of course they are working hard for it to open as soon as possible given that summer is the most popular time to visit.
